Description

Presbond offers rolls of K7000 Norseal® Polyurethane foam bonding tape. These tapes are ideal for a multitude of high performance applications that require thermal insulation and vibration control. The Norseal K7000 exhibits superior adhesion to stainless steel, painted steel, polycarbonates and acrylics. This polyurethane foam is extremely weather resistant while providing the ultimate high bond that strengthens over time which allows the installer to reposition parts. Repositioning of parts depends on time, temperature, and pressure.

Applications

  • Gasketing
  • Automotive
  • Appliances
  • Electrical Panels

Application Notes

Ensure bonding surfaces are well unified, clean, dry and free of dirt and oils. Apply a uniform pressure of 15 psi (103 kPa) to promote good contact between the material to be bonded and the tape The application temperature should be between 60°F and 125°F (16°C to 52°C). It is not recommended to apply these tapes at temperatures below 60°F (16°C), as the adhesive does not flow in this condition and can result in poor bonding.

The adhesion between the substrate and the tape increases with time, typically reaching final bond strength in 72 hours. Heating the product above 105°F (40°C) will accelerate the adhesion process.
