HVAC Gasket

An HVAC gasket is a type of seal used to fill the gaps between two metal parts, such as between a furnace and a duct or between an air conditioner and a window frame. It is made from a flexible material such as rubber, silicone, or metal, and is designed to create a tight seal, preventing air leakage and helping to maintain the efficiency of the system.

When constructing, modifying, or replacing HVAC ductwork, selecting the right type of gasket is critical. Neoprene gaskets are the most common material used, but options such as EPDM or Silicone may be more effective in certain situations.

When selecting an HVAC gasket, some of the important factors to consider include the temperature, pressure, and vibration of the application, as well as the size, shape, and material of the gasket. It is also important to consider the environmental conditions of the area, such as humidity, chemicals, and other pollutants, as some gasket materials may not be suitable for certain environments. And of course cost, as some materials may be more expensive than others.

  • Neoprene Vinyl - this material a closed cell construction with a uniform cell structure that enhances dimensional stability. It is ideal for ducting gaskets, roof curbs, and vibration dampening. This product line is the only foam material that carries an R-Value, for sound dampening.
  • Polyester Urethane - this material is an open cell construction with excellent flexibility. It is ideal for furnace filters, RV and automotive gasketing and door sealing.
